In 2004 Holly Chapples became Director of the Stillwater Humane Society. In the course of her duties there she became aware of a large hole in the pet welfare safety net. Due to lack of sufficient volunteers or funding on the Animal Control, orphaned litters were euthanized.

So Holly did what any completely devoted cat lover would do and took them home to bottle feed them every two hours, day or night. It didn't take long for this to become the full time passion we know today as Tiny Paws Kitten Rescue, leading her to resign as director of the Humane Society and focus on neonatal kitten rescue, rehabilitation, and relocation.
